It’s been a busy season for our netball teams, with teams competing in the girls’ and mixed team leagues as well as the girls’, boys’ and mixed rallies.
The girls’ team had a very successful league season, finishing in second place in the league and also qualifying for the quarter-finals of the borough competition.
The mixed team also performed well, producing some excellent netball in a very competitive and close league.
We entered three teams in the Uxbridge and District girls’ rally, with all of the girls playing well. The ‘A’ team performed particularly well to win their group but were then unfortunate to meet a strong Hillingdon team in the quarter-finals and were narrowly beaten.
In the mixed event, we again entered three sides, with all three teams making it through to the quarter finals! The ‘A’ team convincingly topped their group, before progressing through the quarter-final and semi-final stage to meet St. Bernadette in the final. In a very close encounter, we were narrowly beaten but the team were very pleased with their silver medals.
In the boys’ rally, held at Oak Farm, our ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams both played well. The ‘B’ team made it through to the quarter finals before they were narrowly beaten. The ‘A’ team, however, went all the way to the final, getting better with every game they played. In the final, the Oak Farm team met Cherry Lane and, with a dominant display, were victorious as we yet again claimed the trophy.
A big well done to all of the netball players who have represented the school in the various competitions this year and to Miss Mitchell and Miss Kear for all their hard work with the teams.
