The Oak Farm cross-country squad took part in the Uxbridge & District Primary Schools’ Cross- Country Competition on 12th October at Abbotsfield Secondary School.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams performed superbly; the girls finished in a very creditable 4th place out of 9 schools, while the boys ran magnificently to win the competition for a third successive year, beating St. Helen’s into second place by just a single point.
In the individual race, Oak Farm enjoyed double success: Shauna Cooling won the girls’ race, while Jake Harlow won the boys’ race, with Stanley Thompson close behind in second.
Huge congratulations to all members of the squad:
Squad: Jake, Stanley, Ethan, Nabil, Tom, Max G, Zachary, Shauna, Naomi D, Livia, Sophie C, Amelia, Lydia, Jasmine
Having qualified from the District competition, both our boys’ and girls’ teams took part in the Borough Finals.
In the girls’ race, all of our team ran superbly, to secure a very creditable 6th place out of the 14 finalists. In the individual event, Shauna in Year 6 produced a great run, and a fantastic sprint finish, to grab a brilliant 3rd place. Well done, Shauna!
In the boys’ race, Jake in Year 6 was our first athlete home, with a very good 9th place. In the team event, the Oak Farm team ran well, with our competitors contributing to a very good 5th place overall.
Well done to both Oak Farm teams and thank you to all of those people who supported our athletes.
