Design and Technology
Design and Technology is an area which draws on and links together with other areas of the curriculum. Children are taught a variety of skills, together with the necessary knowledge and understanding in order to design and make using a variety of materials. These include food, textiles, stiff and flexible sheet materials, those suitable for frameworks, mouldable materials, electrical and mechanical components and construction kits. Within these processes of designing and making, the children will learn to evaluate their work and modify where necessary.
Through these activities they will also learn to develop an understanding of technological processes and products, and their contribution to our lifestyles and society.
